Lota Protein manufactures excellent fishmeal and fish oil for the most demanding animal feed industry in the world. It does so with the highest environmental and labour standards, worrying about keeping an optimal relationship with the community.

HISTORY

1995

Lota Protein builds its plant in the Lota district, which was hit by the carbon crisis. It begins to manufacture fishmeal from the purchase of raw materials from local fishermen and the materials sourced from their industrial fleet.

2000

The Norwegian group Koppernaes joins the company’s ownership, incorporating state-of-the-art technology.

2004

The Koppernaes group acquires 100% of the company.

2013

Lota Protein becomes part of the TripleNine group, a holding company formed in part by the Koppernaes group and the Danish company TripleNine A/S

QUALITY CERTIFICATION


The Lota Protein plant holds the IFFO RS certification, granted by the International Fishmeal and Fish Oil Organization (IFFO). This certification guarantees the company’s commitment to responsibly sourcing raw materials and the safe production of fishmeal and fish oil ingredients that it provides.
